French Dictionaries

To study French effectively, a good dictionary is essential. To travel, a pocket dictionary is helpful, but if you are doing a comprehensive self-study program using textbooks, software, or classroom instruction, it is recommended to purchase a bilingual French dictionary with two parts–French to your native language, plus your native language to French. So, for example, if you’re a native speaker of English, the best reference to get is a French-English and English-French dictionary.
